Sharon Wood

I am currently studying for a Foundation Degree in E-Technology at Park Lane College, Leeds. I have just completed my second year and will be going to Leeds Metropolitan University in September 2008, studying for a B.Sc in Computing.

I am also starting to work at Reach Further based at the Round Foundry Media Centre, Holbeck, Leeds, working as a junior web developer/social media developer. I have been helping create blogs and community sites for individuals, organisations and companies.

I have also recently won the West Yorkshire Adult Work-Based Learner Awards in the Culture, Media, Sports and the Arts; Leisure, Hospitality and Tourism category.

The blog is about scams that are received either through e-mail, the post and also Internet scams that are on the World Wide Web. I will be documenting the latest scams to bring these to the attention to a wider audience.

Update 29 September 2008

After my summer break working at Reach Further I now have to cast my attention to my studies once more. I feel I have learned and acheived a lot over the Summer, and learned to juggle my work/family life balance, this has been helped from my employers who are very sympathetic and supportive in my need as a single mum to look after my children. This flexible attitude has helped ease the stress on me and I cannot thank Liz and Helen enough for their continued encouragement and enthusiasm in my abilities.

I know I will have a hard few months in trying to complete my third year of studies whilst working too but I am an ambitious, hard working and driven person and I know if I buckle down I will be attending my Honours Graduation!!!

I shall keep you informed of my progress!!

After having quite a turbulent year with University and work, I have recently decided to start my own business. This was a difficult decision to make due to the economic climate. After much consideration I thought it was worth a try. The company is called Temple IT Solutions and is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. We specialise in pc repair, pc maintenance, pc upgrades, custom build machines, and also web design, SEO and redesigns of existing sites. Our main policy is that if we cannot fix your pc then we  do not charge. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and to offer a service that is affordable to all.

I will  continue with my blog and provide a service to all to combat scams. If you have been a victim of any type of scam or are aware of any new scams please feel free to leave a comment on my blog!
