I too got a letter from Telogram. It for someone with the same surname as me but a different initial. I did contact them and said that the letter could not be for me. I was then told that two furter letters might arrive and to ignore them. I wish I had gone to this web site first. However I will contact trading standards and be aware of the tactics of this firm.

I received a letter today from TELOGRAM also saying they are acting on behalf of CapQuest Investments. Requesting i contact their 0870 number to confirm my old address from 18 years ago. They used very suggestive language in the letter to suggest if i dont contact them I would be INVESTIGATED further by AGENCIES of the dark side of the system :). It's basically a scare tactic.

Having researched into CapQuest Investments they are an aggresive Debt Collection agency who are fond of hounding the public into paying debts that are either over 6yrs old ( so are Statute Barred - ie you dont have to pay them anymore ) or dont even belong to you.
They buy up old debt lists for pennies then chase up those debts regardless of them being owed by you, having been settled in the past, or even having any legal status.
They work on the premise that they can use aggressive tactics to force you into paying a debt you probably no longer owe or ever owed, knowing that a certain percentage of people will just pay up.

BEWARE, This is a Scam - DO NOT CONTACT THEM - KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
They have to prove you owe anything and that the debt belongs to you. If its over 6yrs old you dont have to pay anyway. Do not pay them a penny under any circumstance, once you do that you acknowledge the debt. Seek proffesional advice first if you think you may owe anything.

I have today received a letter from TELOGRAM saying they are acting on behalf of CapQuest Investments. They are telling me to contact them on an 0870 number to confirm my previous address of 15 years ago! When I googled CapQuest they are a debt collection agency but I cannot recall leaving that address with any debt and if I had of surely by now it is no longer valid?

This is scary!

I have also received a letter this morning from Telogram saying they are trying to establish the current resisdential address of Mr * * *****. For a a start I'm a Ms and not Mr, and the last known address they have, Ive never even heard of!!! After stumbling across this blog, I realise it's a scam and shan't worry about it. But there are many vunerable people who will fall for this and I wish something can be done to prevent this and if so how?
